Crossover Resource and Learning Centre was established in 1993 in response to a need we identified in our community for accessible support and advice in accessing jobs and employment.
Our Advisors have a great deal of experience in helping people in the often painstaking journey back into employment or self-employment. You have come to the right place, whether you have been unemployed for 1 month, 1 year or longer.
Our mission is simple: We believe that local people deserve the best. We pride ourselves in turning no-one away, and we offer support and advice to all who call upon our help.
If you have a genuine desire to improve your life chances, we are here to help you. Crossover's staff will look after you with care and attention to detail.
Need Training?
Not everybody is ready for the world of work. We can help you put together a Personal Action Plan whilst helping you to prepare for that first interview.
Our Pre-employment courses offered one to one or in a small supportive group include confidence-building, language for work, listening skills, interview preparation, and much more.
In addition we are able to offer a range of computer courses in our Computer Suite. Some people prefer to work by themselves, and through UK Online self-motivated learning with support is available.
If we can't provide the course ourselves in our local, friendly training rooms and computer suite, we will signpost you to someone who can.
We pride ourselves on never having to use the word 'No'.
What else can we do to help?
Each one of us is different. Some people require more help than others in finding the right job or discovering their talents which would enable them to work for themselves.
We start with YOU. We can provide assistance in CV writing, access to on-line job opportunities, completing application forms, helping you to develop new ideas, and much, much more. We don't assume the right route for you, and during the time working with one of our Advisors some people decide that self-employment is their chosen path. Support is available to make that dream a reality.
All of this is carried out in our friendly, easy access Resource Centre which can be accessed through the Crossover Cafe or side entrance.
However, that is not all. Our services can be provided in locations near to where you live. If that is what works for you, we will walk alongside you in the whole journey back to work, even beyond those early days in a new job. You just need to ask.
